This immersive 6-day, 5-night birdwatching tour takes you through South Andaman’s diverse landscapes, from dense forests and coastal regions to forest margins and wetlands, in search of the island’s incredible birdlife. Renowned as the prime destination for birdwatching in the Andaman Islands, South Andaman is home to 20 endemic species, making it a paradise for bird enthusiasts. During this tour, We will seek out all of the endemics, including iconic Andaman Wood Pigeon, Andaman Green Pigeon, Andaman Woodpecker, and the elusive Andaman Crake. This Tour also promises encounters with resident, migratory, and vagrant birds. Additionally, we will focus on rare endemic owls, migratory waders, and various wetland birds, ensuring a rich and diverse birding experience in Andaman Islands.

ITINEARY
Upon arrival at Veer Savarkar International Airport (IATA: IXZ) in Sri Vijaya Puram (formerly known as Port Blair), our representatives will receive you and transfer you to your accommodation. After lunch, we will head to Chidiyatapu Reserve Forest, a prime birding spot renowned for its dense tropical vegetation and scenic coastal landscape. Here, we will focus on spotting endemics like Andaman Drongo, Andaman Shama, Andaman Bulbul, Andaman Serpent Eagle, Andaman Flowerpecker, and White-headed Starlings.
In addition to these, we may encounter other resident species like the Crested serpent eagle, Asian Emerald Dove, Imperial Green Pigeon, Long-tailed parakeet, Red-breasted Parakeets, Alexandrine parakeet, Asian Glossy Starling, Vernal Hanging Parrot, Ornate Sunbird, Pacific Reef-egret, Plume-toed Swiftlet, Barn swallow, pacific swallow, Brown-backed Needletail any many more. As dusk falls, we will remain in the forest margins for a night birding session, and look out for Andaman Masked out, Andaman Scops Owl, Andaman Boobook, Hume’s Boobook, and Walden’s Scops Owl, a subspecies of the Oriental Scops Owl. We will then stop at a spot near Chidiyatapu to look for the Andaman Nightjar before heading back to our accommodation.
We will begin our day early with a visit to Kalatang, Mix evergreen forest trail teeming with birdlife. This lush habitat, rich in wild fruit-bearing trees and plants, offers the perfect setting to encounter some of South Andaman’s most sought-after endemic species. As we explore, we’ll keep an eye out for the elusive Andaman Crake, along with other endemic like the Andaman Cuckoo-Dove, Andaman Flowerpecker, and Andaman Brown Coucal, Andaman Green-Pigeon, Andaman Cuckoo-shrike, Andaman Wood-Pigeon, Andaman Treepie, Andaman Bulbul, Andaman Shama, Andaman Drongo, Andaman Woodpecker, Andaman Serpent Eagle and White-headed Starlings. We will also look on the surrounding mangrove patches for the stunning Ruddy Kingfisher and the Mangrove whistler before heading back to our accommodation. Afternoon, we will do relaxed birding at Sippighat salt marsh, where we will search for the endemic Andaman Teal. Along the way, we may also encounter other common wetland species such as the Yellow Bittern, Cinnamon Bittern, Lesser Whistling Duck, Pacific Golden Plover, Pheasant-tailed Jacana, Wood Sandpiper, Common Kingfisher, Stork-billed Kingfisher, Brahminy Kite, Chinese Pond heron Dusky warbler and White-bellied Sea Eagle. After dusk we will look out for owls. As dusk approaches, we shift our focus to nocturnal birding, and look out for owl species at Nayasehar and nearby areas. After an eventful day of birdwatching, we will return to accommodation for a well-earned rest, and prepare for another exciting day ahead.
We will start the day early, making our way to Shoal Bay, a diverse region characterized by dense evergreen forests interspersed with mangroves and open forest margins. As we bird along the forested roads, our primary focus will be on spotting endemic species such as the Andaman Cuckoo-Dove, Andaman Wood Pigeon, Andaman Green Pigeon, Andaman Woodpecker, Andaman Serpent Eagle, White-headed Starling, Andaman Bulbul, Andaman Shama, Andaman Crake, Andaman Drongo, and Andaman Coucal. Additionally, we will keep an eye out for a nesting Changeable Hawk-Eagle and other forest-dwelling species, including the Indian Cuckoo, Himalayan Cuckoo, Square-tailed Drongo, and Hodgson's Hawk-Cuckoo.
Continuing towards the open fallow lands and forest margins near Shoal Bay-19 village, we may spot species such as the White-breasted Wood-swallow, Changeable Hawk-Eagle, and Oriental Cuckoo-Shrike and Black-backed Dwarf Kingfisher. In the nearby mangrove habitats, we will look for the Ruddy Kingfisher, and Mangrove Whistler and upon reaching the coastal patch, we will look out for Black-naped Terns, Greater Sand Plovers, and White-bellied Sea Eagles then we will return back to our Accommodation.
Later that evening, we will visit the Ograbrach Wetlands, an excellent habitat for waterbirds and shorebirds. Here, we will look for the endemic Andaman teal along with migratory, resident, and waders such as the Common Redshank, Long-toed Stint, Red-necked Stint, Black-winged Stilt, Terek Sandpiper, Tibetan Sand Plover, Common Sandpiper, Greenshank, Marsh Sandpiper, Common Kingfisher, Blue-eared Kingfisher, common kingfisher, Red throated pipits and White-nest swiftlet Then we will head towards Jirkatang, to spot Andaman Scops Owl, Andaman Boobook, Hume’s Boobook, Andaman Maksed Owl and Walden’s Scops Owl then we will return back to accommodation.
The following morning, we will head to Chidiyatapu Biological Park and its surrounding forest patches, This location is also known for its diverse range of endemic and resident species. Here, we will look out for any missed endemic species, the Andaman Crake, Andaman Treepie, Andaman Wood Pigeon, Andaman Green Pigeon, Andaman Cuckoo-Dove, Andaman wood pecker, Andaman Cuckoo-shrike, Andaman Flowerpecker, and other forest-dwelling birds. We may also spot Changeable hawk-eagle, Freckle-breasted woodpecker, Scarlet minivets, Ashy minivet, Small minivet, Orange minivets, Black-naped oriole, Indian white eye, Asian brown flycatcher, Black-naped Monarch flycatcher we will return to our accommodation for some rest. After lunch, we will set off for the Garacharma wetlands, an excellent spot to observe a variety of warblers, pipits, stonechats, and wagtails, including the Black-browed Reed Warbler, Thick-billed Warbler, Clamorous Reed Warbler, Oriental Reed Warbler, Dusky Warbler, Richard’s Pipit, Eastern Yellow Wagtail, Grey Wagtail, and Amur Stonechat, along with other common wetland and shorebirds. At night, we will look out for any remaining owls and nightjar. Then, we will return to base.
We will begin our day early with a visit to either Ferrergunj Reserve Forest or Mount Manipur National Park (formerly Mount Harriet), depending on any remaining endemic species we need to target. Ferrargunj Reserve Forest features a mixed dry deciduous habitat, while Mount Manipur National Park has dense mixed evergreen forests, towering trees, and lush undergrowth. We will navigate forested trails and margins as we search for key species such as the Andaman Serpent Eagle, Andaman Woodpecker, Andaman Flowerpecker, Andaman Shama, Andaman Bulbul, Andaman Wood Pigeon, and the elusive Andaman Crake, along with any other endemic species we may have missed. After this, we will return to our base. Later in the evening, we will head to a different patch of the Sippighat wetland, characterized by dense reeds and a relatively larger mudflat and water body. Here, we will look our for a variety of species, including Brahminy Kite, Common Kingfisher, Stork-billed Kingfisher, Tibetan Sand Plover, Oriental Pratincole, Little Tern, Black-naped Tern, Gull-billed Tern, Whiskered Tern, Ruddy-breasted Crake, Baillon’s Crake, Broad-billed Sandpiper, Watercock, Slaty-breasted Rail, Pallas’s Grasshopper Warbler, Red-throated Pipit, and Bluethroat. Following this session, we will return back to accommodation. There will be no night birding session, as participants may have early flights the next morning.
After breakfast at your accommodation, our representative will escort you to the airport for your departure to mainland India. This day does not include any birding activities as part of the original itinerary. If your flight is scheduled for the late afternoon, you may choose to join a half-day birding tour for a small additional charge

We will depart from Sri Vijaya Puram by boarding a Ship to Little Andaman, during the journey, we will keep a lookout for seabirds such as Black-naped Terns, Little terns, and White-bellied Sea Eagles. Upon arrival, we will proceed to our accommodation, drop off our luggage, and head to Hut Bay Beach for our first birding session of little Andaman. Hut Bay Beach offers a rich habitat comprising sandy shores, mangroves, pandanus vegetation, and secondary deciduous forest margins, making it an excellent location to spot a variety of birds.
Here, we will look for Black-naped terns, Common terns, Little terns, Blue-eared Kingfisher, Black-capped Kingfisher, White-breasted Wood-swallow, Black-browed Reed Warbler, Clamorous Reed Warbler, Indian Cuckoo, pacific reef egret, Beach thick-nee, Whimbrel, Eurasian curlew, White-nest swiftlet, Plume-toed swiftlet, Brown back needle tail, Barn swallow, Eastern red-rumped swallow, Black-bellied plover, Sanderlings, Grey-headed lapwing and many other species. We will continue our birding along the same stretch, looking for additional species including Asian Glossy Starling, Rosy Starling, Vernal Hanging Parrot, Black Drongo, Chestnut-headed Bee-eater, Dusky Warbler, Pin-tailed
Snipe, Common Snipe, Long-toed Stint, Wood Sandpiper, Marsh Sandpiper, Eastern Marsh Harrier, and Crested Serpent Eagle. As night falls, we will do birding session at R. K. Pur area where we will search for Andaman Nightjar, Andaman Masked Owl, Andaman Scops Owl, Andaman Boobook, and Oriental Scops Owl (Walden’s). After an eventful day of birding, we will return to our accommodation to rest and prepare for the next day’s adventure.
We will begin the day early with a visit to the lush tropical evergreen forests of Harminder Bay. As we walk along the forested trails, we’ll focus on spotting the elusive Nicobar Pigeon and a range of Andaman endemics including the Andaman Cuckoo-Dove, Andaman Wood Pigeon, Andaman Green Pigeon, Andaman Woodpecker, Andaman Serpent Eagle, White-headed Starling, Andaman Bulbul, Andaman Shama, Andaman Crake, Andaman Drongo, and Andaman Coucal.
Along the way, we’ll also keep an eye out for Long-tailed Parakeet, Red-breasted Parakeet, Alexandrine Parakeet, Vernal Hanging Parrot, Black-hooded Oriole, Asian Fairy Bluebird, Dollarbird, and White-breasted Woodswallow among others. Later, as we explore the nearby intertidal rocky shores and sandy beaches, we will look for coastal and shorebird species like the Beach Thick-knee, Common Redshank, Pacific Reef Egret, Tibetan Sand Plover, Eurasian Curlew, Eurasian Whimbrel, and Greater Sand Plover.
We will begin our day early and head to R. N. Point, where we’ll explore a 5 km forested trail. Along the way, we’ll focus on locating any endemic species we may have missed, including the Andaman Crake, Andaman Treepie, Andaman Wood Pigeon, Andaman Green Pigeon, Andaman Cuckoo-Dove, Andaman Woodpecker, Andaman Flowerpecker, and other forest specialists. There's also a good chance of encountering species like the Changeable Hawk-Eagle, Freckle-breasted Woodpecker, Scarlet, Ashy, Small, and Orange Minivets, Black-naped Oriole, Indian White-eye, Asian Brown Flycatcher, and Black-naped Monarch Flycatcher. After the morning session, we’ll return to our accommodation for some rest. Following lunch, we’ll visit nearby locations such as Lotus Point and Butler Bay in search of other wetland and coastal birds.
This day will be dedicated to focused birding. In the morning, we will explore forest patches near White Surf Waterfall and Ongi Tikrey, targeting key species such as the Violet Cuckoo, Andaman Wood Pigeon, Indian White-eye, and Andaman Treepie. Special attention will be given to locating kingfishers, including the Blue-eared Kingfisher, Black-backed Dwarf Kingfisher, and Small Kingfisher. We will also keep an eye out for any previously missed species. By evening, we will return to our accommodation to pack up, and then proceed to board the return ship to Port Blair (Sri Vijaya puram).

OBSERVING BUTTERFLIES
The Andaman & Nicobar Islands are home to around 310 species of butterflies, with 150 species and subspecies found only in this region. These islands are an important destination for butterfly enthusiasts, offering opportunities to observe rare and endemic species in their natural habitats.
Our guided tours take you into lesser-known parts of the islands, including tropical evergreen forests and secondary deciduous woodlands. Led by a professional Lepidopterist, you'll have the chance to spot species such as the Andaman Mormon, Andaman Nawab, Andaman Tree Nymph, and the Andaman Birdwing.
